Psychotherapy in New York City

Welcome.  Searching for a psychotherapist can be challenging in the best of times and often it is not until a crisis happens that people begin their search.  Stress can add to the difficulties associated with seeking out the best therapeutic relationship.  This website has been designed to help those who are hoping to find a qualified provider.

Psychotherapy is a very personal journey that is shared with the therapist.  One way to
make certain that a therapist is qualified to go on what may be the potentially most rewarding trip someone takes is that they have gone on their own.  In other words, that the psychotherapist has had their own successful therapy.

Most therapists who are professionals are required to have at minimum a Master's degree.  Some additional post-graduate training in the field may help to guarantee competency.

Finding a therapist who is committed to treatment with an end in sight is beneficial.  For both people the understanding of the process must involve the acknowledgement of a beginning, middle, and an end.

It is important to find a therapist who has what you want.  Someone who is in relatively good health, and who offers a comfortable, professional consulting room.  A therapist who responds to your initial call promptly demonstrates their responsiveness.  Also keep in mind that the convenience of the office location will help to ensure that you are able to attend the treatment.
